※ P-body introduction P- (mRNA-processing) bodies are cytoplasmic granules that form in eukaryotic cells in response to numerous stresses to serve as sites of degradation and storage of mRNAs (1), which form through multiple protein-protein interactions analogous to a liquid-liquid phase separation (2). Functional P-bodies are critical for the DNA replication stress response in yeast (1), it consists of nontranslating mRNAs and the general translation repression and mRNA degradation machinery (2) and is associated with mRNA translation and degradation (3).
