Gasterosteus aculeatus      Cleavage body

※ Cleavage body introduction

Cleavage bodies is a kind of nuclear PMLO (proteinaceous membrane-less organelles) located in Nucleus, It contains no DNA or RNA and it is fluid shaped as a spherical, it is associated with RNA metabolism, potentially serves as storage/assembly sites for proteins involved in transcription, splicing 3’-end processing of pre-mRNAs, and RNA degradation (1). They are formed as a result of highly regulated and reversible liquid-liquid demixing phase separation and represent condensed liquid droplets, which are invariantly enriched in intrinsically disordered proteins (1).
